Viewers Threaten Ofcom Complaints Over Sabrina Carpenter’s Bold Performance at the Brit Awards 2025

ITV viewers have expressed their dissatisfaction with Sabrina Carpenter’s performance at the Brit Awards 2025, threatening to file complaints with media watchdog Ofcom.

The 25-year-old singer, known for hits like Please, Please, Please, kicked off the event with a bold tribute to the UK. Sabrina graced the stage at The O2 in London, wearing a sparkling red military-style blazer dress and walking down an aisle illuminated with the Union Jack flag, accompanied by performers dressed as King’s Guard soldiers.

However, the performance took a risqué turn as she transitioned into a red sparkly lingerie set while performing Bed Chem, showcasing sultry dance moves throughout. This proved to be too provocative for some viewers, who voiced their discomfort online, threatening to report the performance to Ofcom.

One viewer, Charlie, shared the final moments of the performance on social media, which showed Sabrina suggestively kneeling in front of a guard as he winked at the camera, adding, “Ofcom is gonna be getting lots of complaints tonight.” Another commenter, @Jugyman, who is a father of two, expressed outrage: “As a dad of 11 and 13-year-old girls, I am fuming that this was the opening scene of #BRITs2025.”

Others echoed similar concerns, with one viewer saying, “I should say!! I was thinking of all the young kids watching.” Another person wrote, “How nasty,” while Hilary questioned, “Sorry, not a good idea to open up with before 9pm! It’s still family time, very inappropriate.”

However, many fans defended the performance, with one fan, Efa, joking, “Sabrina already getting Ofcom complaints for her Brit’s performance is so funny. Why does this country hate having fun?” Others expressed amusement at the backlash, with Gigi writing, “People are threatening to call Ofcom after Sabrina’s Brit performance. Oh, I know this must be amazing.”

Despite the mixed reactions, Sabrina later took home the 2025 Brit Global Success Award, presented to her by Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown. Sabrina reflected on her journey in the UK, sharing, “The first time I ever came to the UK was ten years ago with my mum, and nobody knew who I was, maybe ten people. But all I kept thinking about was one day how exciting it would feel if anyone in the UK knew my  music, and now this week I get to headline the O2 because of you guys.”

She continued, joking, “The Brits have given me this award, and it feels like such an insane honor in a very primarily tea-drinking country. You guys streamed the s**t out of Espresso.” Sabrina went on to thank her fans, saying, “Most importantly, I want to thank the fans who have followed me from the beginning. This is for you, thank you so much. Cheerio!”
