Meghan Markle revealed Kate Middleton ‘made her cry’ before wedding to Prince Harry

Meghan said in the startling interview that she had experienced thoughts of d:y:ing as a result of constant public scrutiny and that a member of the royal staff had asked her how “dark” she wanted her kid Archie’s skin to be.

Oprah asks: “Did you make Kate cry?”

Meghan responds: “No.”

The query was prompted by newspaper rumors that the actress had made Kate cry before Meghan’s wedding, but Meghan told Oprah Winfrey that the opposite was true.

Oprah added: “Was there a situation where she might of cried, or where she could have cried?”

“No, no” Meghan says. “The reverse happened. And I don’t say that to be discouraging to anyone because it was a really hard week of the wedding and she was upset about something but she owned it, and she apologised, and she brought me flowers and a note.”

The Duchess of Sussex then disclosed that the outfits worn by flower girls were the cause of the emotional divide; Prince Harry has subsequently made the texts about them public.

In his tell-all memoir, ‘Spare’, published 2020, Harry revealed that Kate told Meghan the ‘French couture’ dresses needed remaking.

He wrote: “Meg didn’t reply to Kate straight away. Yes, she had endless wedding-related texts, but mostly she was dealing with the chaos surrounding her father. So the next morning she texted Kate that our tailor was standing by.”

He added: “This wasn’t sufficient.”

Harry then shared that Meghan received a text from Kate which read: “Charlotte’s dress is too big, too long, too baggy. She cried when she tried it on a[t] home.”

Kate’s response was: “No, all the dresses need to be remade.”

Harry’s memoir then details Meghan texting: “I’m not sure what else to say. If the dress doesn’t fit then please take Charlotte to see Ajay. He’s been waiting all day,” and Kate replied with a short: “Fine.”
